Title: How to form a dwarf spheroidal galaxy

Abstract: I will review shortly the different models for the formation
of dSph galaxies. We can differentiate three main pathways. One is the
threshing and stripping scenario of larger systems. One is the pathway
of in situ formation, i.e. they form as they appear now and the third
possibility looks into a destroyed star cluster of tidal dwarf galaxy
origin, i.e. without a DM halo. Our group has contributed models for
the last two pathways and I will explain our in situ models in more
detail. If time permits I will show how the dynamical properties of
dSph galaxies can be modeled without the need of DM or non-standard
gravity.
