Speaker:* Anuradha Samajdar (U. Milan Bicocca) *
Title: Measuring the Neutron Star Equation-of-State: Challenges and
Prospects in Gravitational-Wave Astronomy
Date:* Monday, June **14th* at *11AM* *CEST* (please note the *unusual*
time).

Abstract:
*The future ground-based gravitational detector era will be much more
sensitive and we expect to extract information from gravitational sources
with much higher accuracies. However, with more sensitive detectors, the
inaccuracies in the waveform models we currently employ will start
dominating. In this talk, I will focus on parameter estimation simulations
of binary neutron star mergers in the advanced design sensitivity detector
era and show that some currently employed waveform models perform badly. In
the second half of this talk, I will focus on a new technique which may be
used to extract a neutron star equation-of-state independent relation from
gravitational wave data directly from special configurations of sources
from the third generation detector era. *
